Blackburn Rovers winger, Morten Gamst Pedersen has once again been talking to the press.

The talented left winger has been vocal amidst claims he is not on top form this season and may, one day, look to move on. A number of comments have been attributed to him over the past week or so after he claimed to Skysports that he would one day look for a move to a bigger club. He said on 21 October 2006:

We don`t have the big stars like the big clubs in the Premier League. Manchester United is a big club, just like Liverpool and the other big clubs. It is obvious that, if a club like that made an offer, I would consider it.

It comes as no surprise that a talent like Gamst will be looking to further himself, but it is concerning when an established team member harbours such opinions. Despite the comments Gamst insists that he is happy at Blackburn but he seems to be spending a lot of time back-tracking.

His latest comments would seem to derive from the possibility that he will be missing from the team on Sunday when the squad travel to London to face West Ham. This is because of the injury he suffered against Chelsea but it may also derivate from his dip in form this season. He told Skysports;

You have to fight every day to keep your place in the team. We have a good squad, a bigger squad this year. I want to become a better player. I work hard in training and try and learn from other players.

Gamst himself seems to be aware of his poor form although he fails to admit it out right. He continued by saying:

You will see more from me this season as we have plenty of games left.

With Sergio Peter improving with every appearance it would appear that Gamst does indeed face competition for his position for the first time in his Rovers career. The fact that he is aware of this will surely prove to be beneficial for Rovers. Or is it a case of Gamst realizing his comments a few days prior may come across a little presumptuous?

The concern is the fact that he is continuously talking to the press after realizing he may have made a mistake by stating he will one day look to move on. At the moment he is talking a good game but his performances aren`t matching up to it. I`m sure everyone at Ewood Park will be watching closely at the weekend if Gamst is in the team or not and why that is.
