Getting to Know……Durks!!

Sunny Ireland is Sasmans’ next stop, as we pay a friendly visit to good ol’ Durks

5 Questions, you know the drill!

1) What have you thought of our season so far. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

Well we’ve started slowly but the gelling process is coming along nicely now. Di Santo has really slotted in brilliantly, as has Jacobson and young N’Zonzi has been a real find. Dunnys renaissance has also been a joy to watch so I suppose I’d put those guys in the good category. For me, Andrews is a waste of space and Dioufs ‘character has reared its head too. I’m also disappointed that we havent seen much of Kalinic, I really hope he is worth the wait (and the money)

2) With the derby game just past, how did it feel watching our lads get one over the Dingles

Well being Irish and not a local lad, I suppose I’m a bit removed from the rivalry so it won’t mean as much to me as it will the other guys on here. Having said that it was great to watch because I know just how much it means to our fans and I was delighted for all those guys who got to go and laud it over their dingle friends/mates/relatives. Plus it was funny to see how quickly the cocky dingles crawled back under the rock from whence they came.

3)Di Santo, Kalinic, Roberts or McCarthy. Who would you play in that loan striker role and why?

It has to be Di Santo really. The difference between him up front at the weekend and Roberts was astounding. Di Santo was always an outlet and running the channels but Roberts seemed lost in comparison. We haven’t seen enough of Kalinic to judge but hopefully he makes the step up, while Benni is just too lazy to play the lone role.

4) What is our current weakest link in the line up. Who do you think is not carrying their weight

As previously stated I think Andrews is nowhere near good enough for Rovers and it’s such a shame to see the talent of Benni wasted because of his laziness. Also, MGP could do with an almighty kick up the arse because he has been a shadow of himself for so long.

5) Where will we finish, who will win the premiership, and who will get relegated!

I think we will be mid table security with anywhere from 9th to 12th the most likely. I don’t know who will win it but I’d say Manchester United are most likely with Chelsea challenging.I think the three going down will be Burnley because their squad is too small, Portsmouth because you can’t recover from the start they have had and Hull because Phil Brown is not a good manager and has been found out.

Cheers Durks, a superb read!
