Arghhhh…the smell of Fresh Meat!!!!

It was like Cake to a Fat Kid. An English Wicket to Peter Siddle. A Goal to Torres. Fresh meat, and Sas pounced, what a brighter way to introduce yourself to the VBER community, then go head to head with Sas, and thats what GoneRoverBoard did!!!!

1) First of all, welcome to our beloved site, always good to see fresh new faces. What can you tell us about yourself, where you from, your first memories as a Rovers Supporter……

To keep it short and sweet, Im an adventurous, lady charmer (haha) from just south of Birmingham in Solihull, love to try anything new, maybe even aussie rules but that could be pushing it. oh and my first experience of Rovers and why i became a Blackburn faithful was Aston Villa away on new years day in 94! 1-0 to rovers in the end, and as a kid, i was easily swayed to support them, because who would want to support a team that lost… (also a reason why i didn’t become a Hull City supporter, but thats a different story)

2)Their has been a lot of movement in the Rovers Squad in the offseason. With a handful of days remaining until the season starts, are we a player or 2 short? Or has Big Sam got it right…..

I think the players that Big Sam has brought in are right for Blackburn, they don’t demand too much salary, and even though their not an all-singing all-dancing versions, they offer what we lacked at them positions. Just gives the team a whole new dimension so BSA has more angles to work from to try and gain them important 3 points against most teams! Saying that though, we do lack a creative midfield type, though i know i wouldn’t be saying this if dunny wasn’t a liability, because he has just enough of what we need (don’t be mistaken though, he’s no tugay). Someone that can fill that whole behind the front 2 and has all the promise villanueva had (and who actually delivers) would be ideal! that vital lynchpin thats required to add that extra bit of pressure to oppenents! the one lampard and gerrard have down to a T!

3) Do you think we realistically can return to the peak of 3 years ago and fight our way back into European contention?

Realistically, i think we can, if you look at past records, we have bounced back from bottom half finishes to secure places around europe! We just have some years were we had to go through transitional stages, and even though everyone still thinks Rovers is a small club overachieving, Quality players will still come to us as we are a solid proven stepping stone for success (as much as i don’t liked to see my beloved team viewed that way). We will be up here for a very long time unless we make an ‘ince’ mistake again! Anyway, going back to the question, if everything falls into place, we should be pushing for number 6! make amends for 2 seasons ago (that shocking away performance at birmingham if people know what i mean)

4) From what you have seen of Vital Blackburn so far, where can we improve, as a site, and as a Community.

Tricky question…. as a site, its pretty up-to-date with the news that comes in, and thats always handy, and i do like the personal touch on the end of some of articles that offer the opinion of a true rover, rather than other sites where it just seems that they don’t actually know alot about football! One thing that has ticked me off though is people voting more than once on the poll, to stop that would be seen as an improvement, would like to see what the faithful truly think! Beyond that, and starting to ask for the impossible, would be nice to get interviews from the players, but feel i might be pushing it now!

5) As always, who will win the premiership, where will Rovers finish and who will get relegated!

Winner of the premiership…. Im gonna go out on a limb and say Arsenal, they just seem to have the right cogs in there now, especially with eduardo back from injury and bringin vermaelen in, they are definatly the dark horse out of the top 4 and wouldn’t be surprised if they start showing the promise they supposedly have! only position that is sketchy for them is infront of the back four, but they should have enough class in midfield to deal with it.
Rovers should finish a strong mid-table position. at worst, 12th, and at best, 6th, so lets average that out and say 9th! with everton villa man city and spurs ahead bar top 4!
And to be relegated….. BURNLEY!!!!! though play-off teams do seem to stay up, i just don’t like burnley and think they should go down….. also, Hull, their poor run of form has hurt them alot more than is let on. they have become the barge pole club for players who want to succeed. and finally, its a tough one but will have to say wolves, though i do want to say Birmingham. either or, two of the promoted clubs will be going down!

Another great read!!! Well done lads, keep it up.

Getting to Know will take a back seat for a fortnight as the Season Kicks off and the Transfer Window Wraps up. If you have sent me a private email, Cheers! And keep an eye out on your private email adress…..
