Vital Blackburn getting to know with young starlet Jason Lowe!
A couple of weeks ago I contacted a very talented up and coming footballer who has been attracting the interest of Stuart Pearce for the England U21’s.
I asked whether he would be able to do a Q&A for Vital Blackburn Rovers. Due to the vast heat of Central America and a knackering work schedule he asked whether it would be okay to do it apon his return.
Well back in old Blighty, he has just got back to me on the hop and this is what he says…

1- How and when did you get spotted by Blackburn?
…Playing sunday league for Eastleigh Juniors…
2- What is the Academy experience like?
…Fantastic experience… Very tough but stands you in good stead for if your lucky enough to get to reserve or 1st team level, physically and mentally…
3- Who has been the biggest influence on your football career?
…Family and friends without a doubt…
4- What are your ambitions/aims for the coming season?
…Play aswell as i can and keep improving and see what happens…
5- Who is the best player you have played with?
…Not sure, trained with Tugay before he retired, he was a legend and absolute quality…
6- Who is the most dedicated player you have come across when it comes to application at training?
…not sure… (Tombo1984: Ah the diplomatic answer!)
7- Is there one player at Rovers when you were in the academy who you would consider as one that got a way too early and could have made an impression on the first team eventually?
…No…
8- How many hours per week do you, as a footballer train with your team mates?
…Wild guess of 15-20 hours…
9- Do you have any superstitious habits or routines before, during or after games?
…Magpies have to be saluted…
10- What is your favourite pre-match meal?
…Pasta bolognaise…
11- What is the proudest moment of your career?
…Captaining my country at a major tournament (U20 World Cup)…
12- Who would you say is your closest friend at the club?
…Probably Grant (Hanley) young lad and Dunny senior pro…
13- If you were not a professional footballer, what would you be?
…No idea… Something to do with sport or excerise…
14- Who was your favourite footballer growing up and who did you aspire to be like?
…Brazillian Ronaldo (Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima) was my idol for a while, enjoyed watching Paul Scholes as i got older…
15- What would you say to any aspiring young footballer wanting to get onto the first step of that ladder?
…Be prepared to make sacrifices and take the rough with the smooth…
