It looks like the Aussies are taking over, with another one now on our books on Vital Blackburn!

Step up, Oziroversfan!!!

1)Another fellow Aussie rover! We are taking over! So tell us about yourself, who are you, what do you do, and why Blackburn!

Haha. Yes it’s very nice to see some Aussie boys on here!! And i will be very much looking forward to catching up with them when the Rovers hit our shores in about 7weeks!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Anyways, I’m Adam i’m 34 and I’m a born and bred Sydney lad and live about 45mins to the south/west from the city. I’m a shopfitter/glazier by trade but i am currently looking for a change so i can get off the tools and try something different and spend a little more time at home with my wife.

Why Blackburn? I was never into rugby league or AFL as a kid, I loved football so i played it from the age of 6 untill i was about 15 when i then decided to referee the game for some extra pocket money. Growing up my family was, and still is Liverpool supporters, I do still like them though…The family that is!

One of my Dads friends when i was a referee was an English fellow that loved his Rovers, I remember him giving my dad grief all the time about being a liverpool supporter, He planted the seed in me, And i think it’s his fault i’m now such a die hard fan!!

I remember watching Rovers playing in the early 90s and thinking they are a very tough team that never gave up and gave their best untill the final whistle, they also didn’t take any crap from anyone!! No matter who they were up against!! I really liked this!!They always seemed to be the underdog but they played hard and tough!! A couple of years later an Australian by the name of Robbie Slater joined the team. And although i was already a Rover fan this got me alot more interested in the team,
And the rest as they say is history…

2)Did we over/underachieve last season, why?

Last season i think was great for us considering the injury problems that seemed to plague the team.

3)What is our current strengths and what are our current weaknesses?

I think one of our strengths is having the home ground advantage!! Ewood Park was a fortress last year and i hope that can continue this season.
I think we have a strong midfield and a great defensive crew! Which will become stronger after more games together!
Hopefully the pre-season will give them the time to become more fluent with each others game.
As for a weakness i’d say it has to be our strikers. I much prefer JR upfront over Niko, He hasn’t cut it the league this year and it was a hefty price to pay for limited goals.

4)Your in charge, who do you sell, and with the limited funds, who do you sign!!

I think selling Vince is the right move and hopefully will give us the coin to get Guti.
But a striker is definetely needed! And with the limited funds i think James Beattie is a likely candidate and as long as he can keep fit would slot into our squad quite well, Raul would be fantastic but i think we all know that’s not going to happen. 🙁

5)What are your predictions for the world cup! Who will win, who will surprise an who will shock the world and fail at tje first hurdle!!!

To use a cliche, Anything can happen, It’s the world Cup! But the Netherlands are my tip to win it.
Australians to surprise everyone and make it to the final 8, at least!! 🙂
And Germany to fail at the first hurdle. Which just so happens to be Australia. 🙂

I would also like to thank the Rovers massive that uses this site, You make newcomers like me feel so welcome and part of the vital Blackburn crew . Also i would like to thank the editors for their dedication and hard work getting the latest news to the fans.

Cheers guys
