Getting to Know…….Riisenholt!

Sas has decided to avoid the rain and chill of Sydney, heading of to enjoy Summer in Denmark!

It has been a while, but Venkys finally gave in, and have decided to give the whole summer transfer budget to Sasman, allowing him to travel the globe in search of fellow Rovers….

First Stop, Denmark!

1) Who is Riisenholt! What does he do and why Rovers!!

Riisenholt is a young man from Denmark named Arne, who is 35 year old, married with one child. I work at LEGO as a process consultant.
Started supporting Rovers since Kenny Dalglish came in 1991, have had some hard times against all those Liverpool and Manchester United fans there are in Denmark!!!! ( I know how you feel my friend)

2) We Survived! A smashing 45 minutes ensured our Safety in the EPL. What did you make of our rollercoaster season?

It has been very up and down almost all season. In the start it was the take-over that dominated then the sacking of Sam and some crazy announcement from the Venkys. We got a new manager mr. Kean, Faxe as an assistent manager and the retirement of mr Williams (hope he is ok).
A lot of non football stuff actually so with that in mind, I think we done ok. We are safe now and can look forward. Though it has been a hard last month of football

3) Who has been the shining light, the player who impressed the most over the season

Hoilett has been flying after Kean took over and gave him the chance, so in that way Kean has been real succes. Now they just got to sign him, as fast as possible.

I would say Kalinic too but after Kean came he didn’t get any matches almost. I canĀ“t figure out why. We would have some nice young players if we get Kalinic to work. Olsson, Hoilett, Phil, Kalinic, etc.

4) And the opposite, who has dissapointed you?

Santa Cruz has disappointed me a lot after all the playing time he got instead of Kalinic. Beside him Gamst and Givet haven’t done as well as I excepted this spring.

5) With John Faxe extending his contract as Assistant to Kean, what role do you think he will provide, being a Dane yourself, do you think he might be able to bring some Danish talent over?

In the normal work at the club I except him just doing his job, not saying much and so on. So no changes there I except. He will give his input to Kean as it comes. He has a lot of experience both good and bad, and I except him to use that a bit more when he get closer to the players in the start-up to the new season.

I pretty sure Kahlenberg will come (80%), it of course depends on how much money the Venkys will put into to the team (I don’t think that much so Kahlenberg will come cheap). Besides that very Dane knows Faxe, so it would be a lot easier to get a Dane to Blackburn when he is there. Hopefully he can use his contacts in Brondby and Randers to get the young talents to Blackburn. Just like Chistian Eriksen and Nikolai Boilesen who changed to Ajax in a young age (you will meet them in the defeat against Denmark in the semifinale of the U21 EM ).

Of course I hope on some pre-games in Denmark at some time, but let see what left besides India….

6) Where do we improve this off season, 3 players, you sign them, who are they?

Again I don’t except the Venkys to put a lot of money into the team, so it is from that angle my new players are seen.

Daniel Wass – RB free from Brondby-> he is excepted (nothing official) to go to Benfica though but would love to see him for the Rovers, 1st season mainly as a backup for Salgado, as he is getting a bit slow in my eyes.

Ba – from West Ham, he is also free as I read from the forum. He has done well and could be a good goalscorer.

Warnock – from Aston Villa. He isn’t playing a lot so should be cheap, and he knows the club. We really need a good solid left back, so the choice will be him.

Others:
Jermaine Jones could be good but the midfield is not a main issue in my eyes.

If Samba leaves as I would almost except then we need a real guy in the middle, for this purpose I would pick Brede Hangeland, but he might be hard to get from Fulham.

But everything depending on the money available.

7) If there is one thing you would have changed this season, what was it?

Normally I would say that things which has happen can’t be changed and I don’t want to. Because if I did, what would then have happened? Nobody knows, so I’m enjoying what we have.
With that in mind I’m sorry we lost John Williams

Fantastic stuff from our man in Denmark! Cheers buddy
