In the latest on our getting to know series, Sasman catches up with Roversman.

After the successful interview with HDM, its Roversmans turn to step into the spot light.

Roversman, how did you come across being an editor for Vital Blackburn? How do you think the site has progressed since you started?

I came across the site by sheer fluke really. During the summer of 06 I left full-time employment in search of my first steps on the career ladder which resorted in me working for free for various things to make a name for myself. Alas, during that summer I constantly kept jumping onto a site called Vital Blackburn for the latest transfer news. Displaying an uncharacteristic cheek I emailed the company asking if I could write for them, they told me to contact the Blackburn editor and as the famous saying goes?the rest is history. HDM was brilliant at welcoming me in and listening to my ideas and before long I like to think the two of us were working well together. Under HDM I was allowed to express my ideas etc and the site flourished. We enjoyed scoops like exclusive interviews with Peter Harrison regarding the future of Lucas Neill, revealing the secret identity of MGP as a pop-star as well as welcoming in an encouraging flow of new members! I know think Vital is the best website for Rovers fans such is our support and the recent reason for our nomination!

How do you think Blackburn has developed under the hands of Sparky from when he took over from Mr Souness?

I believe tremendously well. Who would have thought we would have world names like Benni and Roque playing for us? I think Hughes and the board have brought stability to the club and we are constantly seeing a gradual improvement each season. For me one of the proudest things is the way Hughes brings in ‘nobodies` and under-achievers and makes them into something! Certainly something never enjoyed under Souness. I never thought we would once again have a world-class English-man but in Bents we have! As my Dad and I always say – it`s a pleasure and an honour to be a Rovers fan!

If you could give the axe to any one player in our first team squad, who would it be and why?

Difficult one that is. I would have to go for Gamst. Even though he is one of my favourite players and I`m one of his biggest fans (HDM will testify to that!) we need to try someone else at the minute. It`s just not working for him and I would really like to see us add some extra pace to our attack in the shape of Treacy.

What is your most favourite Rovers moment, and what is the craziest thing you have done for the love of your club?

Favourite Rovers memory? Wow?so many. The day we won the League Cup was special. Although the Premiership win was tremendous I was still young. I could really appreciate the League Cup win. Another favourite day is when we won 7-0 against Forest. This has special association with me because of where I lived. All my friends were Forest or United fans so it was absolutely brilliant whe we thrashed ‘Nottingham`s finest`. Suffice to say my bro and I made the most of it!

What is the Craziest thing you have ever done that shows your love of the CLub?

The craziest thing I have ever done for Rovers? Well I have dumped a girl for Rovers once before. She made the mistake of saying “well it`s either me or your silly football club”. Silly girl! To be fair we hadn`t been together that long so I wasn`t too fussed. I also told a bunch of customers blatant lies so that I could escape to be back in time for the League Cup final.

You are given an open checkbook and the opportunity to sign any player in the world. Who and why?

Well my dream player has always been Del Piero but that isn`t practical anymore. So I will go for a young Argentine called Ever Banega who has just signed for Valencia. Obscure I know but he is a central midfield player, young, he has defensive qualities but an eye for a pass. Much like Mascherano (another player I have always rated) but more refined despite only being 21.

Finally, who will win the premiership and who will get relegated.

Manchester United will win the Premiership, Arsenal will struggle with fatigue again now that they have the additional fixtures. As for relegation, well Derby are down, I fear Fulham will follow and in an ideal world so will Newcastle. Alas, they will no doubt just escape so I will have to go for Wigan.

Cheers Roversman, much depth in this interview, almost ran out of pen and paper lol.
