Blackburn Rovers’ reserve team Manager Glyn Hodges was left a very pleased man (and rightly so) after his side won the Lancashire Senior Cup on Tuesday Evening.

Former Welsh International Hodges, who played alongside Rovers Manager Mark Hughes for the national side, with Hughes making him part of the International set-up during his time in charge of the Welsh also brought Hodges to Ewood Park, where he is doing a superb job as reserve team boss.

After leading his young charges to their first piece of Silverware under his leadership, following the 6-2 win over Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday Evening, thanks to a hat-trick from Joe Garner, and other goals from Raffaele De Vita, Andy Taylor and Alan Judge, Hodges was very pleased with the nights work.

Hodges told the Lancashire Telegraph:

I’m very pleased for the lads.

“We started off very strongly, but full credit to Bolton, they made a game of it and came back twice.

“In the second-half, I think we looked a little bit stronger and fitter in all departments.

“Joe scored his hat-trick and took his goals very well, but everyone played their part.

“The only downside was Sergio Peter. He went to hospital for an x-ray, just as a precaution.

“It was just a tackle early in the game. It was a local derby and there was a few tackles flying in. It was quite lively and both teams wanted to win the game
.”

The injury to Peter WAS NOT serious, as it was later revealed he merely suffered heavy bruising to his leg.
