Everybodies favourite hospital patient but generally very nice man, Vince Grella is going to take a leaf out of the Michel Salgado copybook, available at waterstones for a reasonable price (please note, this is not true).

Grella has only made a handful of starts in his second injury hit campaign at Ewood Park but is expecting to be eased back in more gradually this time round on his latest comeback.

But he already knows who’s approach he will be trying to emulate and had highlighted Michel Salgado as an ultimate professional.

Grella told the Lancashire Telegraph – ‘I’m feeling good. I understand that it’s going to be a little more gradual getting back into the team because the team has been playing well and performing.

‘It’s just good to be fit and out there. The manager knows that he can count on me for the time needed.

‘Michel has been doing really well out there. He waited his turn with patience and he never lost professionalism and that is good to see from a player of such big pedigree.

‘He was sometimes maybe not in the starting 11 but always training and conducting himself as a top professional.

‘He has all the credentials to really settle into English football.’

Kind words for a true pro, even if he still isn’t worth £45,000 a week!
