“Grella-watch” Update

Vince Grella has been continuing his rehabilitation from injury with a special trip to the renowned Aspetar Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital.

Grella has managed 38 appearances for Rovers since his signing back in the summer of 2008 which means he has been worth a season of games in 3 and a half years – not really what you would call value for the £4 million Rovers stumped up for him back in Paul Ince’s days.

Despite all this, fellow Blackburn players have always commented on how hard working Vince is as he looks to hit the first team again.

And this trip to a specialist is viewed as a good step in the right direction for a man who has long been something of a joke amongst blue and white fans.

Grella told the Gulf Times – “I suffered a hip flexor injury with the final kick of a training session at Blackburn a few weeks ago (Seriously I didn’t make this bit up).”

“I spoke with the Australian team physio Les Gelis and he recommended that I come to Aspetar for treatment.”

“Some of my Australian teammates have been here for treatment and they speak very highly of Aspetar. I am really pleased with the quality of the service and treatment here.”

“Not only do does Aspetar have top quality equipment but the staff here are excellent.”

Vince has got just over six months left on his current Rovers contract which means he has a short space of time to overcome a very long nightmare for him.
