Rovers defender and Bruno Ribeiro tribute act Nuno Henrique has spoken in the press, expressing his delight at the club’s recent sacking of Michael Appleton.

Henrique is yet to feature in the Rovers first team after being signed as part of the (sarcasm alert) much heralded (sarcasm alert finished) Tapas Six operation in pre-season.

But that hasn’t stopped him stepping out to prove he is in fact alive and cast his own analysis on Appleton’s ill-fated reign. He’s also game for sticking around at Rovers for the long term… Oh goody, where elsehave we heard that this week.

‘I am happy at a club that offers me all the conditions, so I want to stay at Blackburn many years.’ Henrqiue told A Bola, a Portuguese publication.

‘Sacking the coach was the best decision of the director, as (he) was committing many mistakes, was destroying the team.

‘From the moment he got on the team, we lost our usual play and tactics. Under his guidance, the teams we faced at home were able to win, while we could not turn our game.’

Henrique was also less than complimentary in regards to the treatment of a few of his team mates explaining that Ruben Rochina and the eternally half fit Diogo Rosado were ‘pushed out’ and that Appleton ‘failed to use’ forward Nuno Gomes, who has been marginalised since the start of the season where he looked very handy.
