Rovers are boosted by the return of two young prodigies for the lunchtime Asia Cup clash with Kitchee tomorrow.

Junior Hoilett and Ruben Rochina were not risked in the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday but both will play a part in the 3rd/4th place play off.

Steve Kean, master of snogging the microphone, has informed fans to not expect too many changes from the Villa line up as he wants to establish a core senior group.

Kean told Rovers official website – ‘From our point of view the plan was to keep most of the guys on the pitch most of the time’

‘And our plan for this game is to have the majority of the team the same.

‘We’ve got Junior Hoilett and we’ve also got Ruben Rochina available so those two will come into the team.

‘It is a game we are all looking forward to. Unfortunately for us we never managed to get the win against Villa, but we are looking forward to the second game.’

  • I was saying last night i hope we get to see Hoilett, Rochina, Formica and Olsson all on the pitch at once! Maybe a 433 formation? or will he bring Junior and Rochina on from the bench! Can’t wait to see tomorrow! If these 4 start we can get plenty of goals! Exciting times!

  • I hope Nelsen or Hanley step in as well so Givet can play LB. Would be nice to see Hoilett, Olsson and Rochina attacking. We had no real width or pace going forward against Villa IMO. Should be more goals in this one i reckon.

  • I think I’d like to see a 4-2-3-1 with olsson n holliet starting and Formica n rochina fighting for the middle berth. What dya all think??

  • is that with J rob up front? and who you having in defence and midfield? i’d like to see us in a barca formation with hoilett, formica and rochina up top swapping positions.

  • Good to see them both returning….hopefully we can see Formica, Hoilett and Rochina play together and with the additions of Goodwillie and Petrovic we will have a young exciting team for next season hopefully

  • Have you lot been sniffing toilet cleaner. We have one recognised striker, the prolific JR who scored 5 last season, we have lost our best midfielder JJ, we have lost our best young player Phil Jones and you lot are optimistic. I’ve been in the pub all night and I make far more sense than you mentalists.

  • Agree with itsallrover – one thing to take out of the villa game is that Givet is much better for us at LB. Granted Bent is extremely good in the box but we can’t afford to be beaten like we were in the centre of defence. This also allows us to push Olsson in to left-mid with the possibility of linking up with the likes of Hoilett, Rochina, and Formica (the addition of Petrovic is also very exciting).
