Rovers manager Steve Kean has revealed that contract talks with Junior Hoilett have not been forgotten but they have been put on hold until the end of the season.

Hoilett has been Blackburn’s best player since January and there was a bit of surprise when he wasn’t amongst the host of names signing new deals over the last few months.

Hoilett’s deal runs out in the summer of 2012 but it is known that Hoilett wants to stay at Ewood Park.

But Kean will make him wait till the summer.

Kean spoke to Sky Sports and said – ‘What I don’t want to do is get into contract negotiations now and take away from the type of form he’s in.’

‘Let’s just keep him playing like that and then, come the end of the season, sit him down and agree a new long-term deal.
