From a neutral point of view the Blackburn Rovers defeat at Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon would have been superb entertainment, but it didn’t make up for the fact that we were beaten.

Rovers manager Mark Hughes was not amused with the first half defensive display (which was as bad as I have seen for A LONG time!!!) and rightly so and this is what is attributes to our downfall.

Hughes told the BBC: “We were really poor in the first-half. Defensively we weren’t at the races.

“In the second-half we got to grips with the two lads up front for Wigan and our performance was remarkable.

“When you score three goals away from home you expect to get something out of the game but it wasn’t to be
.”

  • We lost 5-3, but the scoreline really could have been anything couldn’t it and on another day it could have easily been 5-5 at least couldn’t it?!?!
The defending in the first half was FRIGHTENING, which is so unlike Rovers really on the whole.

  • If Emerton hadn’t foolishly got himself sent off I STILL think (despite the penalty miss) it might have gone the other way dude!!!

  • It was a really terrible performance..so, let’s leave it behind and believe next weekend we’ll enjoy a great victory… Chelsea, too bad 4U!
