Blackburn Rovers fans have long since accepted that Lucas Neill will leave Ewood Park but it now appears Mark Hughes is also finally admitting defeat but has fired a warning.

As we have ALL often said in our comments here on Vital Blackburn “the grass is not always greener on the other side” and Neill may well find this out to his cost? Hughes has issued the following warning to Neill (basically saying words to that effect), citing Craig Bellamy’s move to Liverpool as an example. Hughes said:

It seems unlikely Lucas will re-sign.

But maybe Craig Bellamy is a good example to Lucas that things aren’t necessarily better elsewhere.

Craig will be a success but seems to have found it difficult to adjust.

Sometimes it’s better to stick with what you know and be an influential player here.”

The whole Neill issue if I’m honest is quite frankly boring me now! It’s something we have accepted and Sparky’s words of warning to Neill have included those which all but admit defeat from the boss himself. The sooner the whole issue is done and dusted the better?
