Hughes Grateful For Game Free Week

After a hectic schedule of games throughout October and the beginning of November Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes is glad for a little rest bite.

We had a brief rest (maybe at a time when we didn’t really want it!) at the start of October with the International break but since then games have come thick and fact. In just over three weeks we’ve had to play SEVEN League and Cup games which have finally caught up with us. I think Sunday’s performance against Aston Villa proves testament to this.

Towards the end of the game I thought we looked a little bit leggy after the European game on Thursday, that had an effect which maybe it is something that we are going to expect,” said Hughes as he began reflecting on our recent hectic schedule.

Sparky went on to add:

We are grateful for the free week to be perfectly honest; there are a lot of things from the game against Aston Villa that we can work on this week.

Then of course we’ve a big game at the weekend against Manchester United so we’ve a lot to mull over.”

Although obviously I would have very much liked us to have advanced in the League Cup maybe the fact that we did lose to Chelsea (hence our free week) wasn’t such a bad thing after all and a nice break a head of the VERY TOUGH encounter with Manchester United on Saturday will do us good.

Do you agree that we needed a break; will this make any difference to the games ahead? Comment as always below…
