Hughes right in selecting Lucas Neil

Vital Blackburn’s most recent Poll asked you “In Ryan Nelsen’s absence is Lucas Neill the best man for the captains roll?” You certainly think so.

Mark Hughes recently defended his decision to hand contract rebel Lucas Neill the captain’s armband. Despite the Australian yet to commit his long-term future to the club, which ultimately maybe he won’t almost three quarters of you, 73% of you agree with Hughes that he is the right man for the job.

27% on the other hand are not so sure, 8% of this amount think that with his commitment to the club not assured he maybe doesn’t deserve the honour of leading the Rovers side, with the other 19% preferring to see someone else handed the honour and responsibility.

Lucas Neill has, and will continue to do a job for Rovers so personally I think he is the right man for the job, he will play week in week out and will always give his all. With a wealth of experience behind him until The Admiral returns, or Neill moves on, whichever comes first (if of course Neill does leave, which we’d hope he doesn’t!) Rovers are in safe hands.

So in summary
Yes, experienced focused Footballer – 73%
No, maybe not committed to club – 8%
No, would rather someone else until Nelsen returns – 19%

As the search for the Rovers player of the month for September begins the current poll (running for Saturday and Sunday) is asking, “Defender of the Month for September?

The two defenders (or maybe defender and goalkeeper as maybe Friedel may be a chosen one?) with the most votes advance to the overall poll to determine who you feel deserves the title of Vital Blackburn Rovers Player of the Month for September.

As for what you think, cast your vote, and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…
