Mark Hughes has acknowledged that his old side Rovers gave his current side Manchester City a tough game and will also in his eyes climb the table sooner rather than later.
Mark Hughes, speaking to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, said – “I expected a really tough game coming here, of course I did, and the big surprise for me is the fact they are down there.
“The players, the team, I know their qualities very well. They will be disappointed they have not got the three points but they have the qualities that will get them out of trouble, I am convinced by that.
“Blackburn Rovers are a top ten Premier League side and I have no doubt they will climb the table.”
Promising words from a man that knows the side better than most people do. I for one think he is right.
