Hughes: We Were Comfortable Winners

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes felt that Rovers were worthy winners over Derby County on Saturday.

Rovers came from behind against Derby after Kenny Miller put them ahead, with goals from Roque Santa Cruz, Jason Roberts and a second from Santa Cruz to see Rovers through to a 3-1 victory. This was a victory that keeps the UEFA Cup chances alive via the Intertoto Cup, and a victory that Hughes thought was well deserved.

Hughes told the BBC: “We’ve never been out of the top 10 all season and for a club of our size that is a huge achievement.

“Derby pegged us back in the first half and worked extremely hard to get themselves in front.

“We came out for the second half with a lot more drive and purpose and were comfortable winners
