Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Ince has backed the appointment of Tony Adams at Premier League rivals Portsmouth.

Ince, who played for England alongside Adams, believes that his appointment is not only good for the Premier League (as it means another English manager in charge of a side) it is also good for the England National team as it means the chances of a home-grown manager succeeding Fabio Capello increases.

Ince told Sky Sports News: “It is another English manager in the Premier League.

“It has got to be a good thing. The bottom line is, we want to have an English international manager.

“We don’t have to keep looking overseas. It can only be good for the Premier League and the international scene.
