Paul Ince has given his first interview since leaving Rovers. He still feels very bitter about how things panned out and feels there were many mitigating circumstances regarding his short lived reign at the club.

Paul, speaking to Sky Sports said, ‘There’s a plea of getting young managers in top positions. You get in there, things go pear-shaped, and before you know it people are gunning for you to get sacked,’

‘The board never came out and quashed it,’ he added. ‘The press unsettled my players.’

‘We showed 70 good minutes during the 3-1 loss against Liverpool, we matched them.

‘That period gave us inspiration and we were confident we could push on.’

I am sorry Paul but judging by how the players have upped their game sicne you left I am finding it hard to understand that.

It was a tough run for him and he was unlucky but we are in a better position to avoid the drop than when he was here.
