It is always good to interact with out fellow site editors on Vital Football, we here at Vital Blackburn are more than happy to do so.

This is what Zae; the site editor of Vital Manchester United had to say in response to the questions put to him by Vital Blackburn ahead of the meeting with United at Ewood Park on Saturday evening:

1) What a great start to the League season Manchester United have made, how do you think it has gone so far?

Carling Cup embarrassment aside, the season is looking very good for us so far. I think we haven’t produced such admirable football at the start of a season since 1997 – and Wayne Rooney didn’t play to his best! Fortunately, we seem to have pulled ourselves together in the Champions League, too what is a huge relief after last season’s disaster.

2) Sir Alex Ferguson celebrated his 20th Anniversary recently is he still the man to take United forward and what, realistically do United fans expect achievement wise?

There are truly special managers everywhere in the world, but I can’t really think of anyone who would be better suited to this job than Sir Alex. He has been revitalised by the emergence of Chelsea and he would love to knock them off their perch this season. The players seem to be really motivated so we might be able to put up a real fight this time. I think that’s what most United fans would love to see back in Manchester as we all know it’s our trophy!

3) How much longer do you think Sir Alex can go on?

I think he’s right to say he will continue as long as he’s fit enough. I do not think his age has got the better of him yet so he could be able to beat Sir Matt’s record as longest serving United manager. But I’m convinced that age aside, he would retire if we won the Champions League again. That’s what he really craves to do, to lift the big ugly pot one more time.

4) Which Rovers player do you think United need to be aware of on Saturday?

Morten Gamst Pedersen seems unstoppable whenever he plays against us – I daresay he’d like to join United!

5) And what about United, which player will cause Rovers most difficulty?

That’s pretty obvious: Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo are our main attacking threat though you should look out for Scholes, too, he’s been in fine form since he’s returned from his three-match suspension.

6) Rovers have somewhat of a “brutal, rugby league, beat ’em up” tag, unfairly so I`d say as we play some great football, what is your honest view on Rovers?

To be honest, this tag is not as unfair as you Rovers fan would say with a midfield pairing of Tugay and Savage… they are real bully-boys in my opinion. What is unfair, though, that some people suggest this toughness is Rovers’ main strength. That’s not true, they are capable of playing great attacking football and that should not be forgotten.

7) And what about our leader and former United legend Mark “Sparky” Hughes, what’s your take on him and what he has, and might yet achieve at Ewood Park?

He was a fantastic player, no doubt. Maybe he wasn’t the most skilled footballer (only one of them) ever to grace Old Trafford but he was always determined and committed, no wonder he specialised in scoring really important goals. These traits serve him well as a manager and he’s built a decent side without really high-profile signings. Blackburn were one of the few teams last season to come out and try to outplay us at Old Trafford – and they got their reward for it so we can say Sparky got it right. He would deserve a good UEFA Cup run, and his team look much better than Middlesbrough if you know what I mean…

8) Do you think Sparky might return to Old Trafford one day as Manager and would you like this to happen?

He has the attributes to do well at a big club and I’d say he’s United through and through. He makes Rovers play attacking football and some experience on the European stage will help his managerial skills to develop even further. I hope he can prove himself worthy of managing Manchester United and I bet he’d love to do it!

9) Which Rovers player would you happily take any day of the week and which one would you not touch with a bargepole?

Well, I’ve suggested that Pedersen would like to come to us; if that’s true (and there were rumours circulating about it), he would be welcome. I heartily dislike Tugay so he’s an obvious answer for the second question though I know I won’t be too popular among Blackburn fans after this!

10) Is there a United player you would happily give to Rovers?

If you want Richardson or Silvestre for Pedersen… but I think Mark Hughes is a more astute manager than that…

11) Last, but by no means least what is your match prediction for Saturday? Baring in mind we have a GREAT record when we’ve faced you the past few years, especially at Ewood Park!

We had had a great record against Arsenal at Old Trafford in recent years and look what happened… I hope we will turn our Ewood fortunes around this time but to be honest, I expect a hard-fought 1-1 draw with an inspired performance from Brad Friedel – he always excels against United.

I’d like to thank Zae for taking the time to answer the questions put to him. I think his answers are generally very fair and true but I’m sure we’ll all have an opinion on the answers given.
