Is this now known as the Benjani saga?

Benjani will more than likely be at Blackburn Rovers for the 2010/11 season after Steve Kean revealed that a break down in communication (shock of all horrors) caused Benjani to walk away from a contract at Ewood Park.

Rovers are having a shocker this summer and the case of Benjani is a testament to the borderline terrible PR job the club are doing this summer.

Benjani was ‘on the verge’ of signing a new deal a month ago, the player then announced that he’d sign it within a few days ago.

A week then passed before Kean told the press that he had offered the Zimbabwean a new contract and expected him to sign ASAP.

So all good with the world then? Well of course not, this is the public relations suicide that is Blackburn Rovers 2011.

Another week dragged by and still nothing happened.

And finally this week the Lancashire Telegraph reported that Benjani has left Ewood Park after failing to agree terms.

But now… this.

Kean has told Sky Sports just a short while ago – ‘It was a bit of a breakdown in communications, but I’ve spoken to him now and hopefully we’ll have a new offer we can go forward with.’

Someone. For the love of god. Sort it out.
