Jacobsen not a happy bunny

Lars Jacobsen has taken a swipe at the lack of first team outings he has missed out on at Blackburn Rovers.

Lars is fit again but has been behind Michel Salgado and Pascal Chimbonda in the pecking order for the right back spot – something that the Dane is not exactly ecstatic about.

With three right backs at the club there is hot competition for that spot but Lars is currently third in the rankings as to who gets to start.

Jacobsen spoke to the Danish media and said – “I am fit so at this point it is good, but I think it is not too good playing in the reserves,”

“It seems bleak when you are not even on the bench. As long as he has me on the bench and there are two others in the queue in front of me it does not look particularly rosy.”

The Danish international is also concerned his lack of domestic action will see him miss out on the Danish World Cup squad.

Clearly not best pleased is the blond warrior.

Jacobsen continued – “I would say that if I had played the entire spring for Blackburn I would probably be named in the squad,”

“But it`s the coach who must make the choice and he is the best.

“Of course I will be happy to be in the squad, but if there is somebody who is playing week after week and is better than me, he must of course take him.”

However, Jacobsen hopes his reputation will proceed him such is his long term standing in the Danish National Squad.

Jacobsen pleaded – “My advantage is that I have played many matches. The coaching team knows what I stand for and I know the players` style of play.

“I have a routine and know what it is about.”

I don’t think this is going to go down well with a certain large Brummie who sits in the dugout on matchdays.
