Jermal Johnson Handed Wolves Trial

Young striker Jermal Johnson has this week been handed a trial with Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers. Johnson is one of two players looking to impress new Wolves boss Mick McCarthy this week.

The American born 21-year-old moved to England with his family when he five, joining Rovers` Academy when he was 16, having initially been on the books of Manchester United.

Johnson made his Rovers debut in the 2004/2005 season as a substitute in the 3rd round clash with Cardiff City. His first senior goal would come in the next round on his first Rovers start against Colchester United.

Although highly rated and seen as one for the future the arrivals of Jason Roberts, Francis Jeffers and Benni McCarthy, with competition already in place Johnson`s opportunities would appear very limited. If he impresses McCarthy sufficiently the move will either see another loan spell or maybe this time a permanent move away from Ewood Park.
