Good news to kick the afternoon off with as Junior Hoilett has affirmed his commitment to the club he came out of the youth ranks with.

Hoilett has seen his contract run down in the last few months and manager Steve Kean even put talks on hold until the season was over as he didn’t want to disrupt Junior’s blistering form.

But with the wait has come a risk that he could be on his way if the club didn’t act to reward his ascension to first team certainty, a risk that Hoilett has assured the Rovers fans won’t end up regretting.

Junior told the Lancashire Telegraph – ‘Of course when you are not playing and don’t know if you are going to come on and get any minute it is frustrating. Of course you get frustrated especially as a young kid you want to play.

‘Steve Kean has been great for me, I have enjoyed the experience and I am looking forward to pushing on next season.

‘Hopefully we will get something sorted (new contract). Of course I am happy with the club, I am enjoying myself and I am happy here.’

Fantastic news.
