Striker Edinho Junior has apparently done enough to impress Steve Kean he is worth a contract at Blackburn Rovers.


The Brazillian born 18-year-old, who currently plays for Portuguese side Olhanense, has only been at the club for less then a week. However he impressed in brief glimpses as substitute against Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley. Most notably against the latter, hitting the post with a superb shot, with the last kick of the game.


Reports in Portugal, have reported that he has been offered a 2 year deal, and the signing of the deal is imminent.


A work permit will not be a issue as he currently holds a Portuguese (European) passport.


It should be noted, that football runs in the family, with his father, also ‘Edinho’ having spells in England and Scotland in the past with Bradford City and Dunfermline respectively.


Glasgow Celtic were reported to be closing on the youngsters signing for a fee believed to be in the region of £500,000 in February, with a fee agreed between Celtic and Junior’s parent club, and the youngster was seemingly very eager for the move to Britain, but the move evidentally broke down.


The player, has already had 3 extensive trials, 2 with Celtic and 1 with Blackburn Rovers most recently.


Edinho’s father, has publically claimed in Portugal that negotiations are well underway for his son to sign for Rovers;


‘Olhanense have accepted the offer (from Blackburn) and now he is negotiating the conditions of his salary,’ he told A Abola.
