Tony Kane, 19, has followed in the same direction as fellow youth team graduate Andy Taylor by securing a loan move away from the club in a bid to gain first team experience.

Kane will now spend the next month at Stockport County.

He has had a successful career to date with the Rovers youth squad and more recently the reserves. The versatile defender, who predominantly plays at full back, was part of the 2004-2005 youth team that won the national title and first received his squad number, 34, in March of this year.

During the summer he signed a new 2-year contract, demonstrating that Mark Hughes and co. hold him in high regard for the future.

This will be his first stint on loan and his first chance to play competitive football. The Northern Ireland youth international will have his chance to impress whilst away but his ability has already caught the eye of Stockport manager, Jim Gannon. He told Skysports:

We`ve been looking at him for a long time and we were hoping to bring him to the club earlier this season, but he got injured. He`s back playing now and we`re happy to give him the opportunity.

This certainly will be an excellent chance for one of Rovers` brightest young talents to learn more about the game.
