Steve Kean believes Junior Hoilett will be fit in time for Monday’s crunch game with Manchester City as he tries to get his Rovers side back in favour with the fans.

Hoilett missed the 2-0 defeat at Everton with a hamstring injury picked up in the match with Birmingham the week before and there were fears he could be out for longer.

But those fears have been allayed with good news as Rovers are due to get back one of the few players in the squad who can provide that spark.

Kean told Sky Sports – ‘We have missed him. His quality this season has been fantastic, and his consistency.

‘He’s not been a flash in the pan – he’s been a constant threat to opposition defences.

‘We are confident he will be back for Monday. He missed the last game with a bit of fluid on his hamstring but that is clearing up and we are hopeful he will be able to train on Saturday and Sunday.’
