Kean is a praise machine

Steve Kean was delighted with the Rovers in the 2-0 win over West Brom on Sunday afternoon/evening and has been dishing out praise as if it is going out of fashion on Tuesday morning.

Match winner Junior Hoilett was first on the to do list and rightly picked up a special mention from the boss.

Kean spoke to rovers.co.uk and said – ‘We see it every day in training and it’s just good that everyone’s seeing it on the pitch because he’s a quality player and I think he’s a match-winner when he’s on that form.’

But our Steve wasn’t finished there and paid a reference to the massively on form and faultless Paul Robinson for holding up his end of the bargain between the sticks.

Kean commented – ‘I think we played some nice stuff. There were key moments in the game, especially from Paul Robinson keeping us in it at times, but I thought overall we were good value for the three points.’

And finally, where would we be in life without some sort of mention for debut boy Jermaine Jones (or Double J as I am now calling him) after the American put in a destructive performance in the holding role in midfield.

Kean continued – ‘He’s not even fully fit. He has not played for a number of weeks but he’s got everything. I tried to say to him at the end, ‘just save your legs a little bit’, but he finds that difficult, he wants to tackle and join in.

‘His passing and the way he kept the ball for us as well was fantastic. He was a £10million player before his last injury and, with his performance here and another couple of games under his belt, I think he’ll be fantastic for us.’

So it’s fair to say that Kean is in a good mood this morning?
