Rovers manager Steve Kean has promised the Rovers fans that they will see a little bit more of January signings Ruben Rochina and Mauro Formica next season.

Rochina has looked like the dog’s dangly bits when he has been on display in the latter half of last season despite making only 4 appearances and John Bishops’s long lost twin, Argentinian Mauro Formica has not been seen on first team duty once.

Both came with a bit of hype so why the slow start?

Well never fear, a caped hero is here with limited hair to explain all.

The Rovers boss told the official website – ‘They were ready, but it probably just wasn’t the best time to put them in’

‘If we’d have got another couple of victories and were a couple of places higher, then it would have been worth putting them in.

‘Certainly from Mauro’s point of view, I felt it was the wrong time to put him in.

‘Ruben got a couple of cameo appearances as sub and was then unfortunate to dislocate his shoulder, as he probably would have been involved in the Manchester United and Wolves games, so that was disappointing for him.

‘People have seen what kind of skill and what kind of ability that lad has got, whilst Mauro is different, but he’s got other qualities.

‘Both of them are fantastic talents and I think they’ll go on to do really, really well here.’

The manager is even impressed with how quickly the lads have settled into a new environment and rumour has it they even picked up English faster than Bom Bom.

The Rovers boss continued – ‘Both of them are solid lads, they’ve quickly learned a bit of English and if you speak to any of the lads, they’ve been popular figures in the dressing room. They’ve been accepted straight away, which is important.

‘I think they’ll be all the better for a short break away and then back for a full pre-season.’
