Rovers manager Steve Kean has been on the case this morning explaining how the Rovers season is broken down.

It appears the season is taken into phases and against last season’s targets Rovers are ahead of where they should be.

The Kean-o-meter (as we are calling it from now on) shows Rovers in a healthy position but our Steve does concede that injuries are proving an unwanted annoyance.

Steve Kean spoke to the Lancashire Telegraph – “The league is so tight. We look at it in phases and that last game was the end of our second phase and we have picked up 16 points from that, which was really positive because that was more points than in the second phase of last year.

“We are a little bit better off in terms of points. It shows we are in a good place. We are a little bit disappointed we have so many injuries but we can cope with that and if we can add one or two to help I think it is going to be good for the second part of the season.

“These next 10 games, if we can set the target at 15 points hopefully we can be mathematically safe with eight games still to go.

“Then the pressure is off and hopefully allows us to play a little bit more freely.”
