Rovers manager Steve Kean has told the fans that the club is actively trying to get some transfer business done with only days to go before the transfer window.

Rovers paid the price in the summer for dallying with their purchasing of new players in what hindsight dictates was a poor summer window.

With rumours rampant that Ewood’s finest will need to operate a sell to buy policy Kean has come out to at least try to allay those fears.

Kean made a statement on the official Rovers site – ‘We know we need to strengthen and that is what we are trying to do, as quickly as we can.’

‘We have our targets, but we do not intend to discuss names or fees or budgets. We will do our business quietly and when there is something to announce then we will announce it.

‘Supporters can rest assured that we are working around the clock to get some deals done.

‘I have spoken at length to the owners and they are aware of the players we would like to sign.

‘When we get some in and some of the injured lads out of the treatment room then I am sure we will be in a position to climb the table during the second half of the season.’

If this turns out to be the case great. If it doesn’t… prepare for meltdown.
