Rovers on loan defender Michael Keane ended his loan spell at Ewood Park on Saturday, but has not ruled out the club’s 4-3 win over Wigan being his last game for Gary Bowyer’s men.
Keane, who has been a hit since his temporary loan window move from Manchester United in March, is now in a state of flux at United as he waits to see who the new manager is and what the intentions are for him next term.
But the defender has gone on record as having enjoyed his time at Ewood Park, and with another loan move a likely shout for the 2014/15 season – Rovers could be a move for him to consider.
“First things first I need to go back to Manchester United this week and see who becomes the new manager,’ Keane told the Lancashire Telegraph.
“I`ll then have to speak to whoever that is and take it from there really.
“But if I was to come back to the Championship I would definitely consider Blackburn because the club has been great for me and I seriously think next year we`ll be pushing for promotion.
“I came here to get regular games and I`m thankful to the manager for giving me the opportunity to do that. Hopefully I`ve earned my place.
“I`ve had a great time, I`ve really enjoyed myself, and if things don`t work out next season at Manchester United and I don`t get a chance there, I`d look to come on loan again.”
