Sunderland manager Roy Keane is refusing to comment on speculation linking his side with a move for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage.

Savage has been heavily mooted with a move away from Rovers for some time now, but these links have grown stronger and stronger in recent weeks, and the suggestion is that Sunderland have held talks with Sav over a £1.5 million move to the Stadium of Light, but Keane insists that it is not his place to comment on this in public.

Keane told the media: “There have been plenty of players linked with us. I would say in the last month maybe something like 20, 25. I don’t think we will be signing 25 players, let me tell you.

“It would be completely wrong for me to comment on a player under contract at a football club.

“If you asked Mark Hughes if he would be interested in Kenwyne Jones and he spoke about one of my players, I would be very disappointed. It is the wrong way to do it
.”

Sav (and Jason Roberts) were both left out of not only the starting XI but ALSO the squad completely for the match with Derby County on Sunday afternoon, so this will only further fuel the speculation that he will be leaving, which is looking increasing likely (for both?!?!)

However, Rovers manager Mark Hughes though insists that Sav has an injury and NO bids have been made, but has admitted that Roberts was left out of the squad, and not due to injury.
