Fode Koita had recently come in for some high praise from Paul Lambert, who seemed to suggest he had a good long-term future under him, but the signing by former Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer from Caen in the summer has been allowed to leave for Turkish topflight club Kasimpasa.

His departure was confirmed on with this statement released.

‘Rovers have reached an agreement with Turkish top-flight club Kasimpasa for the transfer of striker Fode Koita. The French forward moves to the Super Lig outfit for a fee of ?320,000.

‘The 25-year-old arrived at Rovers in the summer on a free transfer from Caen and made 15 appearances for the club.

‘Rovers would like to wish Fode well for the future.’

Koita’s moved on but Charlton striker Tony Watt, who had been on loan with Cardiff and was set to sign for them before they were placed under a transfer embargo, could be on his way to Ewood Park?

Reports in the South London Press have said his return to Charlton, which ironically enough was against Rovers at the weekend in the one-all draw, could end with him coming in on loan until the end of the season with this becoming permanent in the summer.
