Tottenham Hotspur right-winger Aaron Lennon is being reported as the key to any possible transfer to White Hart Lane of David Bentley.

Bentley has signalled his intentions to leave Ewood Park this summer with Tottenham understood to be battling it out with Aston Villa for his signature. Spurs are understood to have been given permission to speak to Bents but as yet no fee has been agreed, but the newspaper suggestion is that Lennon plus cash will be the offer from Spurs, with Villa understood to have offered a straight up £15 million cash offer for the 21-year-old.

England International Bents is believed to prefer a return to London, so this benefits Spurs but if Lennon would be unwilling to come to Ewood as part of any deal this could put an end to it?!?! However, if the money offer from Spurs is right and Lennon is also offered then this is a deal we MUST take surely???

However, Paul Ince himself has ONCE AGAIN reiterated his desire to keep Bents at Ewood, and expects him back for Pre-Season training next week (Monday the 7th of July).

Ince told the Lancashire Telegraph: “We are obviously going to have to deal with a lot of speculation.

“But as far as I’m concerned, I want David here next season and I’m looking forward to seeing him on 7th July for pre-season training
.”

Meanwhile another Spurs player is being mooted with a move to Ewood, with Paul Ince reported as being interested in want away striker Darren Bent.

How true these newspaper reports are isn’t known, but with it reported that Ince has £20 million to spend this summer (which I find hard to believe) the claims are that he will offer £10 million of this to true and bring Bent to Lancashire?!?! I don’t think we could afford half that amount let along £10 million, so if Incey is even interested in Bent him being used as a makeweight in the possible Bents switch to White Hart Lane would seem more feasible???
