Leverkusen Lose at Home.

As Rovers successfully repelled all that Arsenal could throw at them at the weekend, how were our UEFA Cup opponents fairing in their division? Not very well would be the answer.

As Rovers completed a successful and morale boosting 90 minutes against Arsenal, with their goal in tact, Bayer Leverkusen were losing at home to Hannover.

An early goal from Jan Rosenthal would prove to be the decisive moment as Michael Skibbe`s men lost 1-0 at home to continue their dour run in the league.

He started with an identical formation to the one that performed so well against Rovers. Andrei Voronin, who is now Liverpool bound, which potentially has a knock on effect to Rovers with Bellamy`s mooted return, was on the bench, replaced by Tranquillo Barnetta.

Also absent was goalkeeper, Hans Jorg Butt, who was serving a suspension due to a red card the week before.

This defeat will have surely deflated the Leverkusen side. This could well serve as a psychological edge for Rovers.
