Blackburn Rovers are set for life in League One after being relegated on the final day of the Championship campaign.

Heading into the final day’s action level on points with Nottingham Forest after a late turn in form in recent fixtures, Blackburn did all they could ultimately by taking a three one victory over Brentford at Griffin Park, but Forest took three points from Ipswich and with a two goal difference in goal difference, that was enough to seal our fate.

Unfortunately for us, with Birmingham also taking victory on the day it kept them clear of the mix, but a draw for them against Bristol City would’ve seen them down as their goal difference was worse.

We head into 2017/18 in the third tier of English football for the first time in 37 years and with off pitch protests as we slip to League One from the Premier League during the Venky’s seven years in charge, many would say it was coming as we haven’t been above 20th place in the Championship table all season.

With administration concerns aired by some ahead of the game if we did suffer the drop, we’ll have to see if that comes to pass.
