Rovers youngster Jason Lowe has admitted that he has a target in mind for the end of the season – being selected for the GB Olympic football team.

The part time right back, part time central midfielder has taken to Premier League football like a duck to water this season and has played his way into regular first team selection.

But with the Olympics taking place in London this summer Jason has revealed he has a goal of being in the squad even if it is at the back of his mind at the current time with the survival scrap well and truly on.

Lowe has been included in the rather massive provisional list.

Lowe told the Lancashire Telegraph – “The Olympics is at the back of my mind a little bit.”

“I was included in the first list but it`s a long squad and I think it gets narrowed down some time in March and finalised in June.

“It would be nice to get the nod in there but I`m not thinking about that at the moment.

“I`ll take that as it comes and see what happens.

“It`s not what I`m concentrating at this moment in time.

“Playing well for Blackburn is all I`m bothered about.”
