Blackburn secured a win over Mansfield in the League Cup on Tuesday.

Following a debut goal against Norwich, from the substitutes bench in the four-one thrashing suffered at the weekend, Anthony Stokes put Blackburn ahead before the half hour mark with the help of a deflection off Kyle Howkins.

Mansfield were level within minutes of the second half starting when Mitch Rose scored leaving the home side with belief they could get a win but Blackburn restored the lead through Shane Duffy’s header from a Craig Conway corner. Stokes, also denied by the crossbar, beat Mansfield ‘keeper Scott Shearer to complete his brace and a Rovers win.
