With the season nearly over, Blackburn Rovers’ fans can expect to receive a very special call this week! This call will come from none other than Mark Hughes.

Here’s the latest press release from Ewood Park (below) detailing the clubs latest initiative to help make us the twelfth man.

HI, THIS IS MARK HUGHES CALLING
Rovers fans will get the phone call of a lifetime this week as Mark Hughes joins the fight to promote affordable football and reignite the passion of the game with the fans.

A recorded voicemail from Mark Hughes will be sent to the mobile phones of thousands of Rovers fans to encourage them to become the twelfth man for next season, thank them for their support and to remind them of the pioneering 25% reduction in season ticket prices.

Lucky fans on Rovers’ database will receive an incoming call and when it is answered, they will hear a recorded message from the Rovers boss. Fans can then choose to have a staff member from the Ticket Office to return the call and process their Season Ticket and should the fan’s phone go to voicemail, Hughes leaves a stirring message

The move is part of a planned strategic campaign called ‘We Believe’ by the Rovers marketing team.

Simon Williams, Head of Sales & Marketing comments:
“The message from Mark Hughes will excite the fans and will remind them of the passion of football and the unbeatable atmosphere of a live game.

“We are truly committed to changing the face of Premiership football by making it all about the fans once more.

“We’re always looking for innovative methods of reaching fans and connecting them to the club and what better way of doing this than with a phone call from the manager.”

The We Believe campaign reminds fans about their importance as being the twelfth man, the unbeatable atmosphere of a live game and most importantly making football affordable again for fans.

Season ticket prices have been reduced by an average of 25% next season costing from £249. Juniors tickets cost just £99 and young adults & seniors from £179.

This move, as well as other marketing initiatives such as loyalty cards, £15 tickets for home and away fans has been supported by officials such as Jack Straw, Gordon Taylor and Richard Caborn.

So keep a listen out for your mobile as the next call you get may be from Sparky Hughes (at least a recorded message!) himself?
