One of the stars for Blackburn Rovers so far this season has been Ben Marshall.

Almost certainly a contender (at this stage) to be named the Rovers Player of the Season at the end of the season you’d suspect?? If he can maintain a current level of form recently it’ll be hard for anyone else to beat him.

Against Ipswich Town he rescued us a deserved draw in the 1-1 draw at Portman Road with his injury-time freekick and then last Tuesday scored the only goal of the match to get us back to winning ways when we beat Birmingham City 1-0.

Not only is Marshall performing his versatility is proving invaluable as he is able to fill in and play in a variety of positions, each time as successfully!!

Before the superb Nottingham Forest win (which he didn’t score in for once!!) Gary Bowyer hailed the “marvellous Marshall” on Radio Rovers with him delighted (as we all are) with his “rich vein of form” but as happy as we are, and he will be, with his form it was noted that it was important not to get too carried away by this.

If he keeps “working hard” he’ll only get better and better, which he will and I agree with the Manager when he says: “There is a lot more to come from Marshy, it is our job to ensure that. But it is up to him as well to keep working as hard as he is and wanting to improve.

That is the same for all of them.

Marshall (and the boys) need to keep stepping up to the play to deliver, if they do then the pre-season aspirations of us making it into the play-offs remain very much on as those aspirations have definitely become a more likely possibility after a superb week for Rovers!!
