Maybe time to get off Neill’s back

Vital Blackburn’s most recent Poll asked you “Should Neill have kept quiet? What do the fans think Hughesy should do with him?” Keep playing him was the general opinion.

A massive combined 92% think that Mark Hughes should continue playing the Australian defender, utilising his talents until he does leave with 22% of this amount thinking it should now be no longer as captain.

Only 6% wanted him sent to Colchester (or Anfield) with the remaining 2% glad they weren`t Hughes who was left with a tough call to make.

It has long since been accepted that Neill will leave Rovers and as disappointing as this may be so long as this move really is in his and his families best interests and no one else’s, and genuinely is about furthering his own career and challenging himself we have no argument. He has been a great servant to the club this can’t be disputed.

Although comments like the ones made recently were maybe unnecessary how much was he pushed to get these responses and how much of what was said has actually been “conveniently left out”.

When we think about this honestly Neill has remained very tight lipped when in this country, it is only when he is in Australia that these stories come out. I’m not saying he hasn’t said what they say but how much did they push him? It’s a little too coincidental for this to happen more than once when he has been in Australia. Are they taking his comments out of context and are they portraying him in the wrong light…

So in summary
Keep playing him but pass the armband – 70%
Keep playing him as captain – 22%
Send him to Colchester (or Anfield) – 6%
Tricky glad I’m not the manager! – 2%

The current poll, again suggested by Vital Blackburn member govtpros under this title:

The grass is always greener? Or is it?

Is asking, “Which Ewood star has succeeded the most since moving on?
