Long serving Rovers media chief Paul Agnew has set sail* for India for secret talks with Venkys.

It is not known what the talks are in relation to but one of the possible reasons behind the meeting could be the currently vacant chairman position left empty by former chairman John Williams.

Agnew has been in his current position in as a press officer for over a decade and deals with communication, he is also a life long Blackburn fan.

But even the man himself was slightly in the dark over what the nature of discussion would be.

Agnew told the Lancashire Telegraph last night: “I have said all along whatever I can do to help the club, I will do.

“I`ve always said communication is the key. We have to get the whole club and supporters as one to give the club the best chance of surviving and prospering.

“There is a degree of caution and negativity out there and it has been difficult to manage.

‘If there`s anything I can do to help, I will do.

“I`ve been officially invited to India to talk to the owners, and I`m happy to talk to them about whatever they want.

“I`ve been a Rovers fan for 45 years and involved in the press side for 14 years, and I`ve always said the job is about what`s best for Blackburn Rovers Football Club.”
