Mid Season Report – Alternative View

We’ve heard MikeyGamst’s “mid season report” now boddingtonblue gives us his alternative view.

The general believe seems to be that you start a new season the way you end the previous one? well that’s another cliché we have discredited.

Brad Friedel. Consistent, is it my imagination or have his performances improved since a real no 2 keeper was signed.

Lucas Neil. A top class player with ability and attitude, now we have more of the former and less of the latter the big clubs are calling. A massive, massive loss when he goes. The fact that Sparky would let him go for free rather than take a fee illustrates what his view is. We will struggle to replace him.

Brett Emerton. The fact that he signed a contract and Lucas did not shows that he is Neill’s replacement. He is not a leader or a competitor, they are difficult to replace.

Andre Ooijer. Taken time to settle, looks good now and is a footballer. He passes the ball, but he is 30 odd. Are we turning into Southampton!

Andy Todd. When you play football the way we do we must keep discipline. He is not capable of that, the red mist will come up. With the number of cheats in our league now he is a liability, he will leave in January.

Ryan Nelson. An outstanding footballer and leader, if he was 5 years younger he would be at Real Madrid etc.

Khissanvinilli. You know who I mean! A natural defender, it’s what he does. Like Carvalho he knows his limitations and plays to them.

Micheal Gray. An England full back and close mate of Wayne Rooney’s right hook. He wants to stay. The way he played in Holland and against Spurs he was outstanding. He does not fit Sparky’s idea of a footballer, he will leave.

Jay McEveley. Does fit Sparks profile probably first choice when fully fit whenever that may be.

Tugay. I WOULD PAY MY ENTRANCE MONEY TO WATCH HIM WITH A FOOTBALL. THE GREATEST NATURAL ABILITY SINCE DUNCAN MCKENZIE.

Robbie Savage. Scored goals at Birmingham has not scored goals here. I have an uneasy feeling that he has never been fully fit and has played a number of games not fit due to Steven Reid’s injury. If HE PLAYS FOR YOU U LOVE him, if he plays against you, you hate him.

Mokoena. Centre half or centre midfield, I do not know cos I have not seen enough of him in either. He did play well in his last 2 games but he needs a run in the team.

Pedersen. A complete enigma to me can change a game with one touch, technically superb as good as Beckham from dead balls but where does he go for the other 60 mins. Does not have the pace to go past his full back, has not produced which is one of the reasons we are where we are.

David Bentley. Difficult to say that he is a lot different from Pedersen, capable of great things if only he believed it cos we all do.

Nonda. Not good enough we took a gamble and lost, next.

McCarthy. Playing in a team short of attacking ideas he has done well. He has scored goals in the Champions League but needs pace ahead of him. He plays where Sheringham would have played if we had signed him. I AM AMAZED WE DID NOT.

Sergio Peter. Showed more commitment and determination in 10 mins at West Ham than Morten has showed all season.

We are where we should be in the league. Players I would have hoped to stand up to the mark in the absence of first choicer’s have not done so, get rid!
