Jason Lowe’s long-term foot injury (which has required two operations in recent times with the first not correcting the issue) has been frustrating for not only the player himself but of course Blackburn.

But Lowe’s bid to return to fitness recently saw him turnout against Fulham with that followed up last week with an hour against Wolves, so all being well he’ll be back in the first-team picture for Paul Lambert before the season is out….

That initial game saw him getting 45-minutes against Fulham with him telling the training he’s got has been all good and well but he’s felt good getting that game time too.

‘It was good to get the extra minutes under my belt, that is the plan, and just keep progressing. I’ve got a lot of training minutes under my belt so now it is just game time and I’m feeling good.’

The U21 Development Squad game against Wolves had seen Lowe line up in midfield before he had to switch to right back when Ryan Nyambe was injured, which he said wasn’t a problem as he’s ‘used to doing it and I enjoyed it’ anyway.

Lowe felt he could have played for longer but no one wanted him to push it too much, with him expected to face Arsenal in another U21 game later this week.

He finished by saying.

‘I’ve come through with no injury and it has felt good so hopefully onwards and upwards. I could have gone on, no doubt about that, but I don’t want to abuse how I’m feeling, I’m feeling good and I want to keep ticking the boxes.’
