MikeyGamst has produced a Diary of his recent three game extravaganza featuring trips to Everton, Bayer Leverkusen and Arsenal that he would like to share with us. You’ve seen Part One (click here), now here is the final and concluding part; the match with Leverkusen in Germany and the Arsenal game at the Emirates?

I recently took a week off work to go on a three game tour to watch the mighty Rovers fight on three fronts. Whilst the trip to Germany was always going to be the main talking point, there was plenty to discuss from the other trips.

Three hours sleep later and we are having an English breakfast in a Robin Hood cafe. we checked our flights for 11 o’clock that night and made our way towards the ground late in the afternoon.

First things first…. Great stadium. Apart from the caveman style cages we were kept in in the ground. Plenty of Rovers fans there and the atmosphere was better than Everton. Rovers played actually very well and if Roberts could put one foot in front of the bloody other then we would have cruised through. Some very sloppy defending cost us dear and a lack of presence in midfield didn’t help. God was unlucky with his own goal and Friedel got very little help from an unusually leaky defence. Where is samba when you need him????

Afterwards we made a bail for the flight and just about made it… no thanks to Luke who was unfamiliar with our attacking running style and being Wednesday fan had no idea of how to pace a long 90 minute jog.

Notes from the game
* Why does Henchoz always look shattered after two mins of every game?
* If we had a good header of the ball in our strike force David Bentley would be the assist legend of the League.
* You could really notice how much we missed Pedersen. He probably missed the game to avoid the German beer.
* David Bentley was Rovers best player. His crosses really are Beckham like.
* Best Chant of the Game – “We’re just a small town in Europe”. Classic.

Thursday and Friday did not exist to me. I was asleep and proud!!!!

We had to get up about half five though to get down to London… great saying from Ken who picked me up… “couple of Stella`s will sort anything out.” And how.

After what seemed like 10 hours of travelling we got to see the Emirates, it looks and it is the best stadium I have set foot in. Before entering we went into walk about near Highbury, really nice part of London but £3.50 for a carling? I live in Sheffield… that’s how much a night out costs to me!!!!!!

The game began nice and early. Not many Rovers fans there due to short notice and early kick off time but we tried to make some noise none the less. Nice arrogant bunch of Arsenal fans near the entrance… One fat French guy said to me “I can’t name any of your players mate, you must be ****”. No mate you’re just thick and ignorant like half your fans.

Ultra defensive is a way to some up our game plan. We came with a plan and stuck to it. We got what we wanted. Do I care about the criticism… no. The only time we looked threatening was when Matty Derbyshire came on. 0-0 and at least I hadn`t seen us lose.

Back from London at half five. It felt like 11 o’clock at night. Great week though.

Notes from the game
* Attacking wise we had nothing.
* Defensive wise we were awesome. Theo Walcott is “England’s great hope” Warnock made him look like he was lost.
* Nelsen is the God of the Milky Way.
* Samba played a blinder and If we can get Oooooooijer back and playing right
back the defence is sorted for next year.
* Bentley was the only midfielder who looked comfortable on the ball.
* Dunn looks great on the ball but is still short of match fitness.

Thanks for taking time to read this. I hope to see a few of you on future trips.
