Mokoena Looking For More Action

Blackburn Rovers “utility man” Aaron Mokoena has more or less admitted that he does not want to go back to being a bit part player, if he does that could be the last straw.

Mokoena has again stepped in with Robbie Savage currently out injured, and although he admits that he is patient (as he has been since his arrival) he would not really be happy if he is relegated back to the Bench when Savage (and/or others) returns.

Mokoena told the Daily Star “Every player wants to play as much as possible. I’ve always been patient, but I don’t like sitting on the bench.

“I started more games towards the end of last season, but it has been more frustrating this season once again
.”

When the 26-year-old South African captain came in for Sav last season (when he had broken his leg) he really sold himself to the Rovers fans, and proved himself to be a quality footballer. Prior to that, having played in various positions during his Rovers career before that he really never fully convinced people of his worth, but an extended run brought the best out of him and EVERYONE appreciated this.

It will be interesting to see what does happen when others are fit, as although he has always been patient and not rocked the boat should he not get many first team starts as a result then he could start to look elsewhere for football, which would be a shame.
