Nikola Kalinic is ready to sign for Blackburn according to reports in the Croatian media.

The Hadjuk Split and Croatia international striker was due to move to Pompey as we discussed at length on VB this morning but more details have reached my desk that indicate more clarification on the situation.

Kalinic’s agent Tomislav Erceg has been in the media today in Croatia explaining the situation with his client and what has happened since he they have been in England.

Erceg told sportal.hr in Croatia – ‘When we arrived in Portsmouth on Tuesday, they told us to wait until Friday morning. We didn’t want them to play games with us so we decided to leave straight away for London,’

‘In the meantime we receive a concrete off from Blackburn, who were since the beginning interested. So we immediately left London for Blackburn.’

‘We didn’t go to Portugal, the last few days were spent in Blackburn. They greeted Kalinic like a true star, they are expected big things from him this season.’

‘We received the official offer and I have to admit that it was the best one of all the ones we have received to date for Kalinic. Very quickly we finished the talks with the club [Blackburn]. We had a number of offers for Kalinic, but this one was absolutely the best.’

The reported fee is apparently about £6.5 million and if these quotes are accurate then Kalinic should be unveiled once a work permit has been obtained.

This looks like the BIG summer signing if the agent is to be believed.
